Desk Problems
At my new office I have had to work at a desk that is not really meant to be a desk. It is more of a utility table.
Furthermore, my chair is a dining chair with arms. It invites me to slump because the back is so far. My back was hurting every night from work. The chair was not adjustable, so my arms would be at a sharp upward angle while typing.
As a result, the RSI pain in my hands, wrists, and arms increased. It hurt to the point that I didn't want to use my computer unless it was absolutely necessary. I would try to do more of my work with a pen and paper. It was annoying.
I finally realized that I could solve some of my problems by sitting on pillows. It took two beanbag pillows and one regular fluffy pillow to raise myself to a comfortable typing height that fit the desk.
Now I can no longer reach the floor while sitting, but at least my arms are at closer to a right angle while typing. Much of my pain has decreased.
